Albany Region for the Aspirational Achievers - Munda Biddi Trail

The Munda Biddi Trail is a world-class, nature-based, off-road cycling experience. A unique trail where a 1000km track has been built through an undeveloped natural corridor from Mundaring to Albany.  This trail is for cyclists only, no need to share.

The Munda Biddi Trail  means path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal language.

Enjoy a meandering pace with plenty of opportunities to stop and look at the cattle, goats, horses and other farm animals along the trail. In the quiet of the trail keep your eyes and ears alert for the many different of bird calls from the native birds, enjoy watching small animals such as bandicoots and rabbits running across or beside the trail.  

During the wild-flower season enjoy the beauty of as the forest floors come to life with amazing colours.  Surrounded by nature, relax and enjoy as the trail unfolds through majestic trees, such as the Karri that are the third largest in the whole of Australia.

Cross the suspension bridge at picturesque One Tree Bridge, experience  the splendour of the Walpole Wilderness and beautiful coastal landscapes.

Wood Fired Pizza in Albany - Trojan Woodfired Pizza & Kebabs

We discovered a new Pizza place in Albany on the weekend. Trojan Woodfired Pizza and Kebabs on Stirling Terrace, next door to the Georges Hotel...open every night till late.  Serving genuine wood fired pizza....it was so good.  Friendly service - take away or dine in.  We tried the Trojan Fire and BBQ Chicken YUMMY!!!!  Crust was nice and thin with lots of delicious topping.  We will return and recommend!!

We are fortunate to live within walking distance of both Emu Point and Middleton Beach...what a beautiful part of the world.  I took some photo's on Sunday...I was hoping for a stunning sunrise but it didn't happen.

As it is Becki's birthday we decided to go to the 'Wild Duck' for their degustation menu.  The food couldn't be faulted...Andrew you did an amazing job.

The waitresses although very friendly were not very attentive...we had to ask for water and for pepper.  It was not explained that the wine was an extra....and only small tasting glasses.  After our first course with the wine (40ml), we decided to just buy a bottle to enjoy. With everyone in the restaurant enjoying the menu, the smoke that came out of the dome that had the chowder shots in it was a bit much. Bread is also an extra....

We are glad we went as we can now explain to our guests how the menu works.  Many of our guests have been and have thoroughly enjoyed themselves....would we go again?  Absolutely!!

Birthday Dinner at Lime 303

Lime 303 would have to be one of our very favourite restaurants.  This year we decided to have to celebrate Maggie s birthday with a group of friends at Lime 303.  It was a fantastic night.  The food was amazing as it always is and the service just outstanding....guests were served a glass of champagne on arrival and the attentiveness continued all evening.

Caesar Salad: crispy bacon, garlic, croutons, anchovy, shaved parmesan & poached egg 

Pumpkin & Ricotta Ravioli: with a tomato, basil and roasted red pepper sauce

 

 

Aged Rib Eye Beef: on mash with seasonal wok vegetables and a 
port wine glaze
